Smile Upon Summer

"thou hast thy music too"

From my bower-
The earliest hour is the most beautiful gift of a sleepless night!
A serene silence gathers rhythm from the amaze of the rising sun.
Even the ravens softly sing to this tune,
And the street lamps still awake humbly sublime their blaze.
The buildings grey and sand-
Cheer up in a golden glow on the west stand.
A Light cool breeze carries the scent of the green into my room-
And the memories of Landour-alight.
(No hint yet of the afternoon scorch?)
Fills my chamber, mate with the shadows
That are just born,
Tease the gauzy wings of the dragonfly that
Sits and bathes in the early morning sun.
Soon the new born shadows age to a darkest grey
The growing warmth of a new day turn to summer heat of May
A single shrill of spring bird from the farthest green-hides
Alarms-
Twenty-four hours that’s all I’ve got
Rest is all memories –Past
